Patent granted: Method for manufacturing a three-dimensional biomimetic scaffold and uses thereof

A US Patent has been assigned to Queen Mary University of London, listing Alvaro Mata and PhD Student Juan Pablo Aguilar as inventors. In particular, the invention relates to a method for manufacturing three-dimensional (3D) biomimetic scaffolds that employs electrical fields to pattern hydrogels with different molecules. The 3D biomimetic scaffold of the invention shows potential for use in tissue engineering for facilitating the recreation of complex 3D tissues or environments to guide cells and create tissues in vitro.
