A Biomineralization Platform to Regenerate Dental Enamel
- 25 May 2018
We have developed a biomineralization platform that uses the ordered and disordered sections of a protein to create an organic framework capable of recruiting calcium and phosphate ions, nucleating nanocrystals, and guiding their growth hierarchically into functional materials (www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-04319-0). The platform has potential to generate treatments for enamel repair and regeneration.
