Soraya graduated with a BSc degree in Genomics and Biotechnology from Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Mexico, in 2014. She developed an interest in Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering and obtained her MSc degree in Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine from University College London in 2016. Her masters research project was “Development of human iPSc derived kidney organoids to model Epithelial to Mesenchymal transition in early stages of kidney fibrosis”.
Her research interests include the development of new versatile biomaterials that can mimic biological environments more accurately to support and enhance cell organisation and tissue remodelling. Her current project focuses on the study of peptide amphiphiles interactions with blood.
